Privacy Policy

SOVLR is a sliding-letter puzzle game. You can play immediately as a guest. Connecting Google is optional and is used to protect and recover your SOVLR record.
Information SOVLR processes
- Guest and account data: a Supabase user ID, generated guest name, optional public username, and account creation and update times.
- Google sign-in data: when you choose to connect Google, Google may provide a stable account identifier, verified email address, display name, and profile image. SOVLR uses this information only for authentication and account recovery.
- Game data: puzzle IDs, first-solve times, completion times, attempt counts, ranked or practice status, content version, app version, and client platform.
- Device data: puzzle progress, personal bests, tutorial state, and sound, music, haptics, and motion preferences stored locally on your device.
- Technical data: hosting and authentication providers may process IP address, browser or device information, and security logs to operate and protect the service.
How information is used
Information is used to run the game, preserve first-attempt records, calculate averages, sync progress, recover connected accounts, prevent duplicate or abusive submissions, and prepare genuine ranking and per-puzzle statistics. SOVLR does not request access to Gmail, Google Drive, contacts, or other Google services.
Service providers
SOVLR uses Supabase for authentication and database hosting, Vercel for website hosting, and Google for optional sign-in. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies. SOVLR does not sell personal information.
Public information
Your guest name or claimed username, ranking eligibility, and game statistics may appear on future leaderboards. Your email address and Google account identifier will not be displayed publicly.
Retention and deletion
Local data remains until you reset progress, clear site or app data, or uninstall the app. Server records remain while your SOVLR account exists or as needed for security and legal obligations. To request deletion of a connected account and its associated server data, email privacy@sovlr.com from the Google email linked to the account. Include your SOVLR username if you claimed one.
Children
SOVLR is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so it can be reviewed and deleted.
Security
SOVLR uses access controls and row-level database security so players can access only their own private records. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Changes
This policy may change when SOVLR features or data practices change. The updated date above will be revised, and material changes will be communicated in the app or on this website.
